Term 3 2026 Issue 1
Celebrating one year since the launch of our newsletter initiative, this edition outlines what student’s have been up to over the holidays, highlights the exciting things coming up in Term 3, and helps prepare students for the upcoming AMEB exams and the Wagga Wagga Eisteddfod. In this issue we celebrate the RCM’s commitment to music, congratulating Rowena Grosfeld, Carmel Ryan, and Joanne Burrows on reaching their 20th and 40th employment milestones and the RCM’s finalist status at the 2026 Golden Crow Awards.

Term 2 2026 Issue 6
In this edition we wrap up the end of semester one, celebrating the hosting of 22 student recitals along with countless other student and staff engagement activities throughout the semester. The success of our Lunchtime Concert Series and the annual Junee June Jam are highlighted as we look forward to the Composition and Songwriting Festival next term. In this edition Dr Ray King Scholarship holder Banrou Zhu shares her tips for preparing for the AMEB exams next term.

This issue highlights RCM student commitment to music, through their involvement in The Riverina Anglican College’s upcoming production of Beauty and the Beast, Junee June Jam at the end of the month, and rehearsal clusters for the Festival of Instrumental Music in September. This edition promotes the upcoming Kurrajong Ensemble and Musik of Yore lunchtime concerts and introduces the RCM community to interim ensemble director Cade Lette.

Riverina Conservatorium Orchestra at St John’s Anglican Church
Term 2 2026 Issue 4
This issue celebrates the launch of our June challenge and the success of the Riverina Conservatorium Orchestra’s fundraising concert at St John’s Anglican Church. It highlights upcoming lunchtime concerts: Brass Bites and Bach to Burrows along with other upcoming events including Fête de la Musique presented by Alliance Française de Wagga Wagga. The issue highlights Kooringal Public School assembly involvement and announces the opening of auditions for Christmas with the Con 2026.
Term 2 2026 Issue 3
This edition promotes upcoming concerts including the Uranquity Lunchtime Concert featuring the Australian Army Band Kapooka, the RCM Rising Stars Lunchtime Concert and the Riverina Conservatorium Orchestra fundraising concert featuring Saint-Saëns’ “Organ Symphony”. The issue celebrates the success of the first Visiting Artist Series Concert of 2026 with Timothy Young’s performance featuring RCM teacher Matthew Garvie and congratulates Murrumbidgee Magic Chorus on their third place achievement at the 2026 Sweet Adeline Regional Convention. The issue also welcomes new staff member Julie Pendlebury and highlights the upcoming Cello workshop with acclaimed cellist and conductor Daniel Pini.

Term 2 2026 Issue 2
This issue was all about performance, highlighting the upcoming Visiting Artist, Timothy Young, and our next two Lunchtime Concert Series. This edition spotlights Murrumbidgee Magic Chorus’ preparations for the Sweet Adeline Convention, highlights the Riverina Concert Band and individual performer involvements in ANZAC Day festivities over the long weekend, and celebrates the launch of our Lunchtime Concert Series with a full house performance at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery. This edition welcomes new staff member Madelyn Davis and celebrates teacher and ensemble director Frances Griffin’s 10th year at the RCM.
Term 2 2026 Issue 1
This edition welcomed students back for Term 2 of 2026, highlighting the upcoming lunchtime concert series and other exciting events happening throughout the term. Over the school holidays the RCM celebrated receiving two AMEB distinctions, Tamara Spencer, Head of Brass Woodwind and Percussion’s 10th year at the RCM, RCM ensemble participation in the Wagga Weekender Music Festival, and RCM Teacher Jane Hazelwood’s involvement in the AYO Young Symphonists program. This issue also spotlights the success of the 2026 RCM Festival of Concert Bands and the upcoming Visiting Artist performance by renowned pianist Timothy Young.

The final newsletter of Term 1 highlights the upcoming Festival of Concert Bands, the 2026 Concert Series Launch and the RCM’s involvement in the Wagga Weekender Music Festival. The issue discusses the use of the RCM’s rehearsal spaces for the Schools Spectacular regional auditions along with student performances at the Wollundry Saturday Markets and in Student Recitals, including a special recital for our adult students.

This issue saw us celebrate the achievements of four RCM students, Anthony, Megan, Banruo, and Lachlan who each received their AMusA Diploma testamurs over the weekend. Upcoming events such as the Festival of Concert Bands, Wollundry Saturday Markets and the Professional Performance Pathway course were discussed and vocal teacher Maggie Lawrence told us all about why someone should take up singing lessons.

For this issue of the RCM newsletter we focused on the importance of performance opportunities, from our weekly student recitals to paid gigs and events. This issue highlighted the Professional Performance Pathway course available to senior students and the upcoming Festival of Concert Bands weekend. We also discussed the visit of the Director and board members of the Clarence Valley Conservatorium, introduced new staff member Rachel Roberts and celebrated the marriage of two of our longstanding RCM community members.

This fortnight’s newsletter is all about ensembles! The issue covers the schedule for the upcoming Bands, Choirs, and Ensembles Come and Try Week, along with highlighting some of the fantastic Brass and Woodwind ensembles offered here at the RCM. This edition welcomes new staff member Tristan Tait and spotlights the new Transtage stage risers purchased with grant funding from the Wagga Wagga City Council that will be available for use by students and Riverina community members.

The first issue of the 2026 newsletter welcomes students back to another exciting year of music making here at the RCM. The issue discusses the upcoming Water Runners concert held in the RCM R1 performance space and highlights what some of our students and staff have been up to over the school holidays, including end of year performances and attending the Riverina Summer School for Strings hosted here at the RCM. The issue also highlights ensemble options for students and discusses the lecture held by Author and Pianist Michael Griffin, teaching students and parents about metacognition and mastering a growth mindset in their music practice.
